A man was arrested Friday after he made plans to kill a witness against him in a court case.

According to a Troup County Sheriff’s Office press release, investigators arrested Kenneth Eugene Cosper, 52, of LaGrange, after investigators learned he allegedly planned to abduct and kill a witness in a criminal court case in which he was involved. Cosper was arrested last year for criminal trespass, when he showed up at the residence of a female and began harassing her.

Investigators had received information that Cosper was planning on abducting and killing a witness that was to testify against him. After investigating the tip, evidence was found that Cosper had already taken steps towards his plan of abducting and killing the witness.

A search warrant was executed on Cosper’s home on Friday he was arrested and charged with one count of making a terrorist threat and one count of influencing/threats against a witness. He is being held at the Troup County Jail without bond.
