Inmates charged with robbing another inmate

Two inmates Tuesday were charged with robbing another inmate using a weapon.

According to a Troup County Sheriff’s Office press release, Lashon Boddie and Quindarius Smith, both 18, were in possession of a sharpened piece of metal that served as knife. They allegedly assaulted and took property from another inmate within the Troup County Jail.

Boddie and Smith are charged with armed robbery and possession of weapons by inmate.

Thefts, Burglaries

• A woman said that someone broke the rear passenger of her car while parked at Kent’s Automotive on S. Greenwood Street and stole a black AMP valued at $100.

• A man in the first block of Pine Grove Court said someone stole a Pioneer DVD/stereo valued at $400, a 1500 watt Memphis AMP valued at $200, a speaker box with 15 inch black and yellow kicker speakers valued at $200 and AMP wires valued at $60 from his 2003 Ford Mustang. He said a key was left in the vehicle.

• A man in the first block of James Drive said someone removed two batteries, a tackle box and several fishing rods from his Stratos boat. The value of the stolen merchandise is over $3,000.

Identity Theft/ Fraud

• A man in the 100 block of Wexford Drive said someone used his credit card information to purchase items on the Internet valued at $240.76.
