Mr. Heard, a native of LaGrange, was born October 17, 1949 and was the son of Anderson Heard Sr. and the late Pearlie Phillips.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his father, Anderson Heard Sr., Philadelphia, Pa. Joseph was married to Wanda and to that union four children were born, three daughters, Nakia Heard, Philadelphia, Pa; Sakinah Ahmad and Madiha Heard of Minneapolis, Minn.; one son, Saeed Ahmad, LaGrange; five grandchildren, Anaya Heard, Kaya Graham, Jovonne Brown, Jo’vaya Brown and Ahnnah Cain; one brother, Charles (Shirley) Heard, LaGrange; nephews, Anythony Heard. Chuck Heard and Bryant Heard; uncles, Virgil (Mattie Kate) Williams, LaGrange; Eddie Joe (Louise) Williams, Decatur; W. Paul Williams, Philadelphia, Pa; Raphael Antonio; David Williams, Philadelphia, Pa; two aunts, Nona Harrison, LaGrange; Willie Mae Williams, LaGrange; special aunt, Mable Turner, LaGrange; special cousins, Freddie (Pamela) Williams Jr., LaGrange; many other relatives and friends.
The memorial service will be Saturday at 4:00 PM at the Burks Chapel United Methodist Church on the Burks Chapel Road with Rev. John Tompkins officiating.
The family will be at their home at 109 Cedar Street.
Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
