LaGrange police and firefighters, among others, stand on the overpass at Upper Glass Bridge Road and Interstate 85 as a 9/11 memorial passes by.
The memorial, a steel beam from the World Trade Center, was carried on a flat-bed trailer.
The escort included several New York City firefighters, some of whom responded to the 9/11 attacks, as well as Engine 343, a 1951 fire truck engraved with the names of all the firefighters who died when the Twin Towers collapsed.
LaGrange firefighter Sgt. Sean Guerrero joined the procession in Newnan.
