A man allegedly shot a pistol at another another man, but missed, during an argument Wednesday night at his residence in the 100 block of Overbrook Drive. Darryl Jones, 45, was charged with aggravated assault.

• A resident of the 100 block of Stewart Street called 911 after he saw a man wrap both hands around a woman’s neck near his residence. The suspect, angry because the victim had broken up with him, was charged with simple battery under the Family Violence Act.

Mailboxes damaged

Six mailboxes in the 100 block of East Mount Zion Church Road were knocked to the ground Wednesday night.

Vandalism

Someone caused more than $500 damage to a Honda Accord in the 900 block of Todd Street. Damages included deep scratches on the hood, trunk, sides and rear.

Theft

Various items valued at $115 were stolen from a barn in the 5000 block of Hamilton Road near Pine Mountain.

Arrests

• Anthony Lucas, 47, of Briarwood Avenue was charged with felony shoplifting.

• Kimberly Driver, 23, and Clifford Brown, 25, both of Hogansville Road were charged with theft by taking.

• Dexter Shealey, 38, of West Point was charged with possession of cocaine.
