Mrs. Leonard, a native of LaGrange, was born August 14, 1915 and was the daughter of the late John and Ora Lee Darden Cofield. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pittman Leonard and son, Pittman Leonard Jr. She lived in Philadelphia for more than 50 years and was employed as a seamstress at Cohen Men’s Clothing. She was a member of the Triumph Baptist Church in Philadelphia and was active in the Deborah Circle. She enjoyed socializing with friends, family and church.
Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Ola Mae Reed, William Cofield Sr., Robert Lee Cofield Sr., James Hubert Lee, Mary Lee Dicks, Perry Lee, and many great nieces, nephews, cousin, other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Lorenzo Cofield, Henry Cofield, and Mable Cofield Lee.
The funeral service will be Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at 1:00PM at the Valley Grove Baptist Church, 126 Grady Street, LaGrange. Rev. J. R. Ware will officiate. Burial will be in the Southview Cemetery.
The family will be at the home of her niece, Ola Mae Reed at 808 Troup Street and will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6 until 8PM.
Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
