He was born in Wedowee, AL to the late Robert and Mary Hester Robinson. He was preceded in death by 10 siblings and a daughter, Jeannette Yancey. He operated Robinson Welding for 40 years, was a member of Lovejoy Baptist Church and attended Lake Cindy Baptist Church. Sam enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking and traveling.
Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Shirley Robinson; daughters, Sandra (Ricky) Miller, Marie (Terry) Standish, Patricia (Rick) Russell, Brenda (Tim) Mosley; ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Beulah (Amos) Toney; numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 11:00 AM from Meadow Way Garden Cemetery in LaGrange. Friends may visit the family today from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Contributions are asked to be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Mr. Robinson.
