Ms. Glenda Louise Tarwater, 56, of LaGrange, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at the West Georgia Medical Center.

Ms. Tarwater was born April 4, 1954 in Roanoke, AL, daughter of Mavis Porter and the late Earl Shepard. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church and was fomerly employed by West Point Pepperell.

Survivors include her parents, Mavis and James Porter; sister, Irene (Scott) Spradlin; daughter, Heather Langley; stepsisters, Zona Harris and Terri Peterson; stepbrother, Carl Porter; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Joseph Tinsley, Michael Spradling, and Austin Shepard; and special animal friends, Buddy, Little Man and Molly. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Shephard and sister, Earline Cowan.

Funeral services will be 3:00 Thursday at Hunter-Allen-Myhand Chapel with Rev. Chris King, Rev. Mike Hornsby and Rev. Sam Wood officiating. Interment will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens. The family will be at 111 Log Cabin Road and will receive friends at the funeral this evening from 6:00 to 8:00.

Flowers will be accepted, but those desiring may make contributions in memory of Ms. Tarwater to the West Georgia Diabetes Association, Attn: George Reeves, President, 143 Bonaventure Drive, LaGrange, GA 30240.
