Brother to Brother will include speakers Bartkowski, a former Atlanta Falcons quarterback, and Pollard, a former tight end for the Falcons and Indianapolis Colts. A meal and worship music will be a part of the evening.
“We want to bring men from the community together. There is no other focus but to bring Christian men together,” said Patrick Crews, president of LaGrange Banking Co. and one of the organizers of the event. “We believe this night can raise awareness of the strength and depth of the body of Christ in this area.”
The event began out of Troup Transformation, a local organization that was formed to unite the Christian community and strengthen the church and its influence. The group of men that organized the event represent a variety of churches and denominations.
There are no corporate or church sponsors, so the cost of the event comes only from ticket sales, Crews said.
“This is a cross-denominational event,” said Mike Meredith, another organizer of Brother to Brother. “We hope it becomes an annual event. There’s no telling what could come out of this, but that’s not the focus right now. We want to just come together in Christ.”
