Velma Elizabeth Bolton Alford, 97, formerly of Warm Springs, died Wed-nesday, October 6, 2010, at Hospice LaGrange.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 8, 2010, at Warm Springs First Baptist Church with interment in Warm Springs City Cemetery, according to Cox Funeral Home, Manchester. Visitation will be today from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Alford was born January 29, 1913, in Panola Co., TX, the daughter of the late John Thomas and Allie Tompkins Bolton. She was the widow of the late Arthur Lee Alford.

Survivors include her daughter, Margaret Dussor (Bob); her grandchildren, Cynthia Murray (Jim), Cheryl Harnage (Joe) all of Monks Corner, SC, Barry Fowler (Patti), Tina Johnson (Phillip) all of LaGrange, Tony Fowler (Lyn) of Newnan, Catrina Davis of Columbus and her daughter-in-law, Rhonda Daniel (Bob) of Woodland. She is also survived by two sisters, Mozelle McCrackin of Houston, TX, Inez Dorsey of Wichita, KS; eleven great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Alford was preceded in death by her daughter, Cora Fowler Champion and her son, Arthur Lewis (Al) Alford; one brother, five sisters and two great- grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the caregivers of Florence Hand Home and Hospice LaGrange for the care she received.
