Mr. Earlie D. Anderson Sr. of LaGrange passed away Saturday.

Mr. Anderson, a native of Harris County, was born September 12, 1933 and was the son of the late R. D. and Ossie Lee Anderson. He was affectionately known as “Rabbit”. He was an active member of Confidence Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon ministry, Male Choir, and Sunday School. He retired from the City of LaGrange after more than 20 plus years of service.

Survivors include eight children: Margaret Hutchinson, Willie A. Hutchinson (Lisa), Alfonzo Hutchinson, Willie H. Hutchinson, Carlene Lipscomb, Minister Brenda Anderson (Marvin), Rosie Anderson-Hardnett (Alvin), Earlie Anderson Jr.; four sisters: Olivia Sands, West Point; Lurlene Maxwell, Birmingham, AL; Pauline Upshaw, Columbus, GA; Cora Rowe, Pittsburg, PA; sister-in-law: Cora Hutchinson, Lake City, FL; brother-in-law, Benjamin Hutchinson, LaGrange; twenty-six grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one special grandchild that he raised; his church family, many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Margaret Anderson; son, Jamie Lee Hutchinson; granddaughter, Wanda Hutchinson; brothers: Reese Dan Anderson and John Willie Anderson; and three sisters: Sally Richardson, Marie Johnson and Addie Meredith.

The Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 3:00PM at the Confidence Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Michael Jackson will officiate. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.

The family will be at 108 Keyes Street and at 299 North Kight Drive.
