Morris Nicholas “Boy” Tucker passed away March 18, 2013, at Hospice LaGrange.

Mr. Tucker was born September 10, 1918, in Chipley, Georgia, to the late Morris and Indiana Tucker, Sr.

“Boy Tucker” was educated in the Harris County Public Schools. On September 1, 1939, “Boy Tucker” married the love of his life, Marion Wortham.

His first job was clearing land for what is known today as Callaway Gardens; he ventured into his own business of pulp wooding. He later entered the poultry work force and retired with 30+ years of service from Cagle’s in Pine Mountain Valley. After retiring he worked for the Bowen Family in Pine Mountain.

He was a dedicated and faithful member of Smith Chapel.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marion Tucker; daughters, India M. Hutchinson, Marie McKee, and Mary Jean Tucker Jones; daughter-in-law, Roberta Tucker; grandchildren, Carolyn A. Tucker and Damarian Tucker; and sister, Mattie Wortham.

Survivors include nine sons, Charlie M. Tucker, Reverend Willie H. (Nettie) Tucker, Henry Tucker, George Tucker, Minister Robert (Mary) Coverson, all of Pine Mountain, GA; Marvin (Teresa) Tucker, Arthur L. (Mary Gray) Nelson, both of LaGrange, GA; Nathaniel (Patricia) Tucker, Powder Springs, GA; and Kenneth (Angela) Walker, Manchester, GA; one daughter, Bessie Maddox, Newnan, GA; one son-in-law, Lee McKee, Pine Mountain, GA; forty seven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; seventy-two great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren; and ten great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends; three special friends, Archie, Jesse, and Mark Oliver.

The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at 11:00 AM at Smith Chapel U M Church with Rev. Edward J. Landrum and Rev. Julian L. Warner officiating. Burial will follow at the Church Cemetery.
