Shantress Hurston, 41, of 969 Kelley St. passed away on Sunday at West Georgia Medical Center.

Shantress Hurston the daughter of the late Shirley Hurston Johnson was born in LaGrange.

She was a member of St. James C.M.E. church and a graduate of Lagrange High School Class of 1990.

Shantress studied at Fort Valley State College and accounting at West Georgia Technical College.

She was a long time employee at Interface Flor of West Point.

Survivors include: a loving sister Shamonica(Eric) Fannin of LaGrange, two aunts Kasandra Jackson and Diane Hammett of LaGrange, one uncle James (Jeanette) Shavers of Grantville, three nieces; Noliyanna Ector, Nigeria Fannin and Nariah Fannin all of LaGrange, cousins, and friends.

She is preceded in death in addition to her mother by grandparents Willie Lee and Julia Mae Hurston and uncles; Lorenzo Shavers and Julius Hurston.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 3pm at Bethlehem Baptist Church in West Point with the Rev. L. K. Allen officiating .

The interment will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens.

A reception for family and friends will be held on Friday from 7pm - 9pm at the funeral home.

The family will receive friends at her home.

This service has been entrusted to Mackey-Wilson-Jennings Funeral Home.
