Mr. Edward Dean Furgerson, age 82, of Hogansville, died on September 23, 2012 at the Hospice LaGrange.

Mr. Furgerson was born on September 14, 1930 in LaGrange to the late Joe Terrell (J.T.) Furgerson and Myrtle Wilson Furgerson Ledford. He was a self employed painter. Mr. Furgerson was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Bailey Griggs Furgerson, stepson, Darrell Griggs and a brother, Jimmy Furgerson.

He is survived by his step daughters Frances Johnson and her husband Barry of LaGrange and Geneva Kidd and her husband Charles of Covington; daughter, Kathy Furgerson; son, Bruce Furgerson; brother, Joe Neal Furgerson and his wife Gail; sisters, June Bowen and her husband Gene and Mary Bridges and her husband Kenneth; 8 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at 1:00 pm a the Higgins LaGrange Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Lane Farley officiating. A private interment will follow at the Meadow Way Gardens Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 am on Tuesday.
