Mr. Jim Prestwood, 63, of Newnan passed away Friday, December 7, 2012, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
Mr. Prestwood was born May 20, 1949, in Brinkley, Arkansas, son of the late Harry Jr. and Ruth Broadway Prestwood. He was a retired detective from the LaGrange Police Department. Mr. Prestwood was a United States Army veteran of Vietnam.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Tim Sams and Sharon and Rev. Danny Geter all of LaGrange, and Heather Prestwood of Lanett, AL, grandchildren, Taylor, Abi, Austin, Jacob, Tucker, and Ally; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tim and Teresa Prestwood of Beebe, AR, and Mike and Buffy Prestwood of Godley, TX, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Chase Carter, sister, Glenda Prestwood, and a brother, Dennis Prestwood.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 Tuesday at the Hunter-Allen-Myhand Chapel with Rev. Danny Geter and Rev. Nick Pilgrim officiating. The family will be at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Rev. Danny Geter, at 594 Priddy Road, and will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
