Mrs. Lura Frances Smith Moman, age 92, of Luthersville, died on March 2, 2013, at the West Georgia Health.

She was born on November 14, 1920, in Randolph County, Alabama, to the late Josh and Minnie May Smith. She was a loving, caring mother to her family, and had a part in the “raising” of four generations. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Moman was preceded in death by her husband Young Daniel Moman; children, Hulit “Buck” Moman, Alice Fay Fomby and an infant son. Four siblings also preceded her: Roy, Johnnie, Mutt and Ruby.

Surviving are her sons, J.R. Moman of Corinth, Eugene Moman of LaGrange, James Adam Moman of LaGrange, Clint Moman and his wife Regina of LaGrange; daughters, Christine Phillips of Greenville, Frances Johnson and her husband Lee of LaGrange, Minnie Mae Lollis of Greenville, Jeanette Shepherd of Luthersville, Ruby Caldwell and her husband Wilbur of Hogansville, Ruth Mock of LaGrange, Hazel Heath and her husband A.J. of LaGrange; brothers, Seaborn Smith and his wife Bartha of LaGrange and Frank Smith of Roanoke, Alabama; 42 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 6th, at 2:00 pm at the Higgins LaGrange Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Hosmer officiating. Interment will follow at the Meadoway Gardens.
