Letter: The right to discriminate is wrong

Dear Editor:
As a life-long atheist, I am well aware of the propensity of religious people to discriminate against their fellow Americans.
The Supreme Court just announced that the right of governments to discriminate is as unconstitutional as it is wrong. Will the Obergefell v. Hodges decision eliminate discrimination in West Georgia?
If the conduct of a local probate judge represents the consensus in our area, no. However, if discrimination by the religious persists, this story is far from over.
Even though they are not real charities, churches feel “entitled” to tax exemption. Continued discrimination will put their tax exempt “entitlements” in peril because, as our highest court has just decided, the right to discriminate is wrong.
