LaGRANGE — Investigators continue to review hours of surveillance video taken early Sunday morning from inside the Good Times Bar on Hogansville Road.
LaGrange police said around 3:15 a.m. on Aug. 30, Tobias Ogletree, 24, of South Kight Drive, was shot at least once in the back inside the club and later died from his injuries at West Georgia Medical Center.
Nearly a week later, LaGrange Police Department detectives and investigators said they are still working hard to catch his killer.
“We’re identifying people through the video, and as we identify them, we’re also asking them questions,” said Lt. Dale Strickland, head of LPD’s Criminal Investigation Section.
Witnesses inside the bar said they heard at least two gunshots, according to police. People inside immediately tried to exit the building.
Sgt. Mark Cavender, head of LPD’s Special Investigation Unit, stated he and his team were inside Good Times just an hour before the shooting took place — checking to ensure the establishment was following city codes. Everything was calm, and, according to Cavendar, the bar was already in the process of closing down for the night.
Strickland called the case an active investigation.
He also said through the process of identifying people on the video, investigators did note there were some gang members present at the club that night.
Investigators are still looking for any information that might lead them to a name or description of the shooter.
Anyone with any information is asked to call the LPD Criminal Investigations Section at 706-883-2620 or Troup County Crime Stoppers at 706-812-1000.
