LaGRANGE — Six people are recovering Friday morning after their cars collided in the 800 block of New Franklin Road on Thursday.
The accident happened shortly before 11 a.m. in front of Fryer’s Tire Center at 808 New Franklin Road, near Walmart.
LaGrange Police Office Wesley Engle said a woman driving a 2004 silver Jeep Wrangler pulled out of the Fryer’s Tire parking lot and attempted to drive across all four lanes of traffic to one of the entrances of Walmart.
A 2001 Plymouth Acclaim northbound on New Franklin Road hit the front side of the Jeep, the officer said, causing it to spin around and flip on its side.
The Plymouth ended up crossing into the southbound lanes before it came to a stop in front of Walmart, according to Engle.
Five people in the Plymouth, three adults and two children, plus the driver of the Jeep were all taken by ambulance to West Georgia Medical Center with minor injuries, Engle stated.
The driver of the Jeep was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way to oncoming traffic.
Three lanes of New Franklin Road were closed for almost 45 minutes as crews cleaned the road.
