LaGRANGE — Two women injured after the cars they were driving collided on Vernon Street in front of the LaGrange Car Wash just before 3 p.m. Thursday.

LaGrange Senior Police Officer Wesley Engle said the driver of a 2006 white Volvo S40 was leaving the car wash and attempting to turn left onto Vernon Street.

Engle said the traffic in the right lane nearest to her stopped to let her make the left turn.

But another motorist, driving a 2005 Honda Accord, was eastbound in the center lane on Vernon Street to catch the light at North Greenwood.

According to Engle, the driver of the Honda was traveling too fast and the two cars collided in the center lane.

Both drivers were taken by ambulance to West Georgia Medical Center complaining of back pain, the officer stated.

Engle said each driver was cited in the crash.

The driver of the Volvo was given a ticket for failure to yield the right of way, and the driver of the Honda for improper use of the center turn lane.
