LaGRANGE — The search continues for two suspects who reportedly robbed a male at gunpoint Tuesday afternoon while he was walking to the store in the 500 block of Brown Street near Smoot Street.

According to LaGrange Police Detective Jeremy Jones, the victim said two black males approached him just after 1 p.m. and asked him if he had change for a $20 bill.

The victim told Jones as he reached for his money, one of the males pulled out a pistol and demanded he give him his wallet and cash.

Jones said the suspects also stole the victim’s cellphone, then made the man lay on the ground before taking off down a path that led into some woods.

LaGrange police officers responded, cordoned off the area and brought in a K-9 unit and patrol officers on foot to try and track down the suspects.

Jones said the victim described the two males as being about 17 or 18 years old.

Anyone with information on the incident was asked to call Jones at 706-883-2633 or Troup County Crime Stoppers at 706-812-1000. People also may leave tips by messaging the LaGrange Police Department on its Facebook page, Facebook.com/lagrangepolicedept.
