LaGRANGE — An award-winning country artist is slated to perform at a local studio today.
Jacob Bryant, winner of the Georgia Country & Gospel Music Association’s Best Male Vocalist and the Entertainer of the Year and Songwriter of the Year awards, will play at 7:30 p.m. at Pure Life Studios.
Bryant has performed with David Allen Coe, Kentucky Headhunters, Eli Young Band, Easton Corbin, Drivin’ N’ Cryin’ and Keith Anderson. His band Jacob Bryant & 151 also worked as the house band at Cowboy’s.
“I am really proud of Jacob,” said Pure Life Studios owner Maggie McDonald. “He was on our stage a year ago talking about his aspirations and now he is on CMChatLive’s rising star list.”
CMchat wrote, “One look at the charts these days, and you see names like Aldean, Moore, and Swindell – among others – who are all from the state of Georgia. Hoping to join those ranks — as our #OneToWatch for September is Jasper native Jacob Bryant.”
Bryant recently released “Through the Windshield,” his second EP. Of the five tracks on “Through The Windshield,” Bryant had a hand in writing three: “Where Has The Time Gone,” “Save My Soul” — co-written with Jon Lawhon of Black Stone Cherry — and the title cut. He found the other two songs from Nashville writers Bridgette Tatum and Danny Myrick on “Just Enough Jesus,” and Adam Craig on“Holding On To Home.”
The concert will be at Pure Life Studios, an acoustic listening room at 206 Clark St. in LaGrange. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Cost is a $15 cash donation at the door. Outside food and drink are welcome.
