Local club honors first responders

LaGRANGE — The Optimist Club honored two of the city’s first responders for hard work and sacrifice during the club’s annual Public Safety Appreciation luncheon on July 11.

LaGrange Fire Sgt. Lance Horne was presented with the organization’s Firefighter of the Year award for LaGrange. Horne was recently promoted to the rank of sergeant and obtained his paramedic certification, said Fire Lt. Austin Starr.

LaGrange Police Senior Officer Jim Davison was honored as the Officer of the Year. Davison was recently transferred to LPD’s community outreach unit, Starr stated.
