LHS student caught emailing pornographic image

Officers responded to LaGrange High School at 561 N. Greenwood St. just before 3 p.m. on Wednesday on a call regarding illegal and illicit images found on campus.
A student used a school email account to allegedly send an inappropriate video of herself, said Lt. Dale Strickland with the LaGrange Police Department.
The email was flagged by the school’s computer system, he added.
It is not clear to whom the email was sent to.
The case is being investigated as the distribution of pornography, Strickland stated.
Stolen Vehicle
A LaGrange College employee told police someone stole his SUV from the school’s maintenance shop at 425 Panther Way between 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
The employee said when he returned to the shop his 1999 green Chevy Tahoe was gone.
Two witnesses told LaGrange police officers they saw a middle aged African American man wearing a brown jacket and black toboggan hat get inside the SUV and drive away, according to a report.
The employee told police there was close to $2,000 in cash also in the stolen vehicle, a report stated.
The value of the SUV was estimated at $4,000.
Burglary
A man returning from dialysis discovered someone broke into his home in the 1100 Truitt Street on Wednesday.
The homeowner told LaGrange police he left his residence about 5:15 a.m. and returned around 10:30 a.m.
The man claimed a DVD player, 120 DVDs, 12 different prescription pills and four pairs of shoes were stolen from the house.
The estimated cost of all the items missing was more than $700.
Burglary in progress
A woman called 911 just after 1 a.m. on Thursday when she heard someone trying to kick in the back door of her home in the 300 block of Daniel Street.
LaGrange Police carefully approached the home but did not find any suspects, a report stated.
Officers did notice damage to the back door and to the door lock, according to the report.
The cost of repairs to the door was valued at $100.
