LaGRANGE – The traditional “Up All Night” Thanksgiving Dinner is right around the corner.
This will be the 24th consecutive year that the Thanksgiving dinner will be taking place as volunteers in the community gather together to serve hundreds of needy and less fortunate people in Troup County.
The dinner is hosted by WTRP AM 620.
The event will start Monday and run through Thanksgiving Day. On Monday, dinners will be handed out starting at noon and ending at 3 p.m. at Cannon Street Elementary School.
The coordinator of the Up All Night dinner is Jimmy Edwards and the founder and president is the host of “Up All Night” TV, Jake Sessions.
“We will start cooking the meal three days before Thanksgiving and they will be ready to serve on each day,” said Edwards.
“All the donations we get come from the community,” said Sessions. “People who usually make donations listen to our radio station and follow us on a regular basis.”
The Up All Night group is seeking donations in cash and food, in case they have to purchase something extra for the Thanksgiving dinner. They are looking for foods such as hams, turkeys, canned vegetables, cranberry sauce, dressing, corns, cakes, pies, plates and plastic cutlery.
Donations may be taken to Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home at 201 Hamilton Road, the Good Seed Christian Bookstore on 205 S. Greenwood St., and at the WTRP AM Radio Station on New Franklin Road.
