MACON –  The Troup High wrestling team continued its sensational season by winning a pair of matches in the Class AAAA state duals on Friday in the Macon Coliseum.

After going 1-1 on the first day of the tournament, Troup beat Ridgeland 30-25 and Oconee County 56-10 on Friday.

Troup will face Woodward Academy at 10:30 a.m. today, and if it wins that match, it would face either Luella or West Laurens for third place at 2 p.m.

On Friday, Troup was eliminated from championship consideration with a 31-30 loss to Luella.

Troup, which has won 33 of its past 34 matches, improved to 36-3 in dual matches this season.

Also on Friday, LaGrange’s tournament run came to a close with a 41-33 loss to Oconee County.

On Thursday, LaGrange lost to Marist 36-32 and beat Northside-Columbus to advance.
