Marvolene Elizabeth Amason

Mrs. Marvolene Elizabeth Amason, age 98, of Duluth, GA, passed away March 17, 2017. A native of Randolph County, AL, she was born December 5, 1918. She was the daughter of Leburs and Fannie Strain and the widow of Woodrow Amason. She lived in LaGrange, GA, most of her adult life until retiring to “the farm” near Roanoke, AL. Her later years were enjoyed among her family and many friends at Parc, a retirement home in Duluth, GA.
She is survived by her son, Tony Amason and his wife, Carol, of Sandy Springs, GA, and 2 grandchildren; Lisa Booth and her husband, Mark, of Greenville, SC, and Tony Amason Jr., of Franklin TN, as well as 6 great-grandchildren; Jack, Kyle, and Ryan Booth of Greenville, SC, and Taylor, Brinley, and Macy Amason of Franklin, TN. She is also survived by 2 sisters, Ozell Ellerbee of Monroe, GA, and Carrie Norred of Woodstock, GA, as well as a sister-in-law, Phyllis Strain of Gainesville, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Woodrow Amason; sisters, Lucille Cooley of LaGrange, GA and Charlene Adcock of Roanoke, AL; and a brother, Velford Strain of Auburn, AL.
She was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church in Roanoke, AL. Interment will be held at Shadow Lawn Cemetery in LaGrange, GA, at 2 PM on Monday, March 20, 2017.
