Mrs. Dorothy “Gramma” Lyons, 78, of LaGrange, GA passed away Friday, March 31, 2017 at Hospice LaGrange.

 

Mrs. Lyons was born March 25, 1939 in Chicago Heights, IL, daughter of John and Gladys Roggemann.  She was a member of Advent Lutheran Church and was retired from West Georgia Medical Center.

 

Survivors include her husband, David Lyons; daughter, Lorrie Karpik; sons, David (Wendy) Lyons and Jim (Tracy) Lyons; 8 grandchildren, Jodi (Jeremy) Vaughn, Jeff (Whitney) Karpik, Chad Lyons (Erika Atkinson), Drew Lyons, Meagan Lyons Daniel, Katie Lyons, Matt Lyons, and Abby Lyons; 8 great grandchildren, Kirstin Vaughn, Sophie Vaughn, Adaly Lyons, Izzy Vaughn, Lorali Daniel, Greyson Lyons, Burkley Karpik, and Aria Daniel; sister, Joan Witvoet; and a brother, John Roggemann, Jr.

 

The gathering of family and friends will be on Tuesday from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary.  A private Celebration of Life service will be held later with her son, Bro. Jim Lyons, officiating.

 

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests contributions be made to Hospice LaGrange or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Mrs. Dorothy Lyons.
