Mrs. Ilena Baker Matthews, 94, of LaGrange passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Twin Fountains Nursing Home. Mrs. Matthews was born September 21, 1922 in Roanoke, Alabama the daughter of the late Walter and Hixie Jane McClendon Baker. Mrs. Matthews was a homemaker and a member of Hilyer Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Matthews.

Sons and Daughter-in-law:  Danny & Margaret Matthews, Rome, GA. Ricky & Lisa Matthews, LaGrange, GA. Steve Matthews, LaGrange, GA. Ray & Dianne Matthews, Sherman, TX. Darrell Matthews, LaGrange, GA. 23 Grandchildren, many Great Grandchildren & many Nieces & Nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Illena Baker Matthews will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday from the graveside in Meadoway Gardens Cemetery with the Reverend S. T. Janney officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home (Wednesday) evening from 6 until 8 P.M. Interment will follow in Meadoway Gardens Cemetery.
