Walking for a cure

This past weekend hundreds of people walked at Vernon Woods in order to raise money for Alzheimer’s research.
There were 25 teams featuring 176 total participants in the event.
Alzheimer’s is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States and more than 5 million Americans are living with the disease.
We gave this stat the other day in this space, but it’s worth repeating — a person develops the disease every 66 seconds in the United States.
“We, like the Alzheimer’s Association, won’t rest until there is an end to Alzheimer’s,” said Natalie Jones from Edward Jones, the walk’s national sponsor.
We want to thank everyone who took part in Saturday’s walk. It may seem like a small thing to participate in a walk or raise money, but every person who took part could end up playing a role in finding a cure.
