Man arrested after allegedly trying to break into car

Breshun Shaw, 32, was arrested and charged with criminal trespass and obstruction after allegedly attempting to enter a vehicle on Garfield Street and fleeing from police officers on Jefferson Street Wednesday morning. According to the police report, officers were advised that a man had entered an auto and were given Shaw’s description.
An officer noticed Shaw walking in the roadway on Jefferson Street and pulled up behind him. According to the police report, Shaw did not stop, and when the officer activated their vehicle’s lights, he took off running and jumped a fence into the Hillside Apartment rental complex. The officer later brought out a K9 who helped lead police to footprints outside of a building. When checking one of the apartments, an owner told police a man walked into her apartment and told her to be quiet.
The owner let officers come to her apartment where they stood at the front door and gave commands to Shaw. A few minutes later, Shaw came out and was arrested. According to the police report, officers ran his name and discovered he had a warrant for failure to appear through the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office.
Man catches burglary in the act
A man told police he witnessed three men burglarizing his house at the 100 block of Beeman Street Wednesday afternoon. The man said he had left his house to run errands when he saw three men he used to associate with standing at the corner of a nearby street.
Because he believed the three men were involved in breaking one of his home’s windows, he decided to circle the block and walk back to the residence. According to the police report, the man walked back to his house taking a different route and when he walked through his front door he found the three men standing inside his house rummaging through his things.
The man told police he stood there for a minute and then let out an expletive, which caused the men to flee from his house. The man said he chased them until he reached East Bacon Street.
The man told police $45 was taken from his residence, his couch was moved away from one of his windows and the screen attached to the window was damaged. The man said everything beside the window was locked before he left the house.
Man arrested for shoplifting, drug possession
James Hand, 44, was arrested at the CVS Pharmacy on Morgan Street for alleged shoplifting, drug possession and obstruction Thursday early morning. According to the police report, an officer was making a routine stop at the business when the manager told them that Hand was in the bathroom concealing a Nautica fragrance gift set and Curve brand fragrance gift set.
A store employee told the officer that Hand admitted he had the items concealed. According to the police report, Hand told the officer he did not have the items. When the officer tried to detain Hand, he physically resisted him and more officers were called to the scene. According to the police report, officers tried detaining him again, and Hand attempted physically resisting again.
While searching Hand’s person, officers found the fragrance bottles and arrested him. While further searching him, officers found a plastic bag containing suspected methamphetamine and marijuana, according to the police report.
