Mr. Ellis Jeremiah “Jerry” Bray, of LaGrange, Georgia entered into God’s presence on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, from WellStar West Georgia Medical Center. He was born Oct. 16, 1938, in Rockmart, Georgia, the son of Frank Bynon Bray Jr. and Lula Mae Woodruff Bray. Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He retired from Coca-Cola Enterprises and was a small business owner of Jerry Bray Wilbert Vault Company.

Following retirement Jerry worked at Hoofers &  The Gospel Barn restaurant and was the grounds supervisor at Rosemont Baptist Church. He was also a charter member of Rosemont Baptist Church where he and his wife, Carole, served in preschool, children and youth ministry for 50 years.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Carole Bray, son, Ben Bray, brother, Frank B. Bray III and his wife, Doris, sister, Barbara Power and her husband, Tom, and sister, Betty Russell, sister-in-law, Connie McLain, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, many cousins and friends and their canine companion, Cleo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marian and Gene Smith, father-in-law, Robert ‘Buddy’ Brooks, mother in law, Mattie and Paul Cliett, brother-in-law, Bobby Russell, brother in law, John McLain, great-great niece Kylie Beth Creed, and nephew, Robby Russell.

Services for Ellis Jeremiah ‘Jerry’ Bray will be held at Rosemont Baptist Church on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017, at 11 a. m. with the Rev. Adam Camp and the Rev. Max McCord officiating. The gathering of family and friends will be at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Meadoway Gardens on Hamilton Rd.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Rosemont Baptist Church building fund in memory of Jerry Bray, 3794 Hamilton Rd, LaGrange, Georgia 30241.
