TSCO arrests man who didn’t return to work release

William Luther Maggart, wanted for not returning to work release, was found and arrested in West Point Thursday morning by the Troup County Sheriff’s Office. According to Sgt. Stewart Smith, the office was given information about his location and deputies were able to find him.
Maggart was on work release for probation violation. He did not return to the work release on Dec. 8.
Entering auto attempted at Mooty Bridge Road
Two men allegedly attempted to enter vehicles at the 900 block of Mooty Bridge Road Thursday around midnight. Two residents told police they saw a sedan park in the parking lot across from their residence. Two men exited the vehicle and pulled on car handles. One of the residents said they saw one of the men pulling on the door handles of his truck, according to the police report. The two suspects sped away from the block when one of the residents yelled at them.
Boat and campers broken into at lot
Eighteen boats and RVs were allegedly broken into and a few small electronics were taken Saturday at the 3200 block of Mooty Bridge Road. According to TCSO Sgt. Stewart Smith, it is unknown when the incidents took place.
