A strong finish wasn’t enough to lift the Troup Lady Tigers to a win.
Facing Central-Carroll on the final day of the Hilburn-Patterson Haralson County Invitational on Friday, Troup scored 22 points in the fourth quarter before falling 46-43.
Troup (5-4), which went 0-2 in the tournament, will open Region 5-AAAA play against Chapel Hill on Tuesday.
The Lady Tigers started quickly and they led 14-7 after the first quarter, but they managed just seven points during the next two periods combined to fall behind 34-21.
Troup caught fire in the fourth quarter with Amber Gilbert leading the way, but Central-Carroll was able to hold on for the victory.
Gilbert made two 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and scored 11 of her 15 points.
Jedda Madden added 10 points for Troup, with six of those points coming in the fourth quarter.
Aundracia Riggins scored nine points, and Jada Green added eight points.
