Mr. Darryl Lynn “Big D” Johnson, 56, of LaGrange, Georgia passed away Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, at WellStar West Georgia Medical Center.

Mr. Johnson was born the late Maureen Johnson  and  Albert Gilliam, Sr. on Dec. 22, 1961, in Chambers County, Alabama.

Darryl was a faithful members of the St. John Baptist, Lanett, Alabama until failing health.  He was a product of the West Point Public School System, where he as a member  of the 1980 graduating class.

Mr. Johnson was employed by Interface Flooring for many years. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded by an uncle, William C. Johnson.

Darryl’s memories will forever be engraved in the hearts of his loved ones, his wife, Tersia Johnson of LaGrange, Georgia, a son that he raised as his own, Joe Avery of LaGrange, Georgia,  his beloved and faithful sisters, Joanie Marshall (Desadier Reese, grandson) of LaGrange, Georgia, Anita Spencer (Larry), Whitesville, Georgia, Karen Thompson (Wayne), Conyers, Georgia, Phyllis Cox ( Willie) of Ellenwood, Georgia; one brother, Sylvester Dunn, Jr. of Ellenwood, Georgia, aunts, Sylvia Ann Gates of LaGrange, Georgia and Ida Mae Boswell of Atlanta, Georgia, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services  for Mr. Johnson will be held on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018, at 2 p.m. E.T., at the St. John Baptist Church, Lanett, Alabama with the Rev. Charles Trammell, Pastor serving as the Eulogist.

Interment will follow in the St. John Cemetery. The remains will lie in state at the St. John Baptist Church from 1 p.m. E.T., until the funeral hour on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018. The family may be contact at the residence of Ms. Joanie Marshall, 116 Redwine Drive, LaGrange, Georgia.
