The term fashion victim will take a new meaning Feb. 8 when local school faculty and staff from multiple schools wear fashion faux pas to raise funds for scholarships for students.
The local Georgia Beta Iota chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, an international sorority for female educators, is holding a fashion show and silent auction to help students, according to member Kathy Hagler.
“It’s a faux pas fashion show and faux pas means fashion blunders,” Hagler said.
The event will have 30 models dress with unique themes, such as a “one night stand” dressed as a night stand, she said.
“I’m a ‘pot head’, so I’m going to carry a pot on my head with pots sewed all over my dress,” Hagler said. “Another principal is ‘50 Shades of Grey,’ so they’re going to wear 50 shades of paint gray, the paint slips that you get from the paint store. It’s going to be really cute.”
Hagler said this is the first time the sorority will hold the event and that they’ve almost sold out. She said her goal is to raise $5,000.
The event will be held at Dal’avant Event Center and will be catered by Tulla White Cuisine and Catering.
Hagler said people should come to the show because it will be great entertainment.
“Our posters say ‘teachers make an f? Frolic, fun and food,’” Hagler said. “It’s going to be really cute, it’s going to be entertaining.”
Tickets are $20 and those interested can email Hagler at kathyrhagler@yahoo.com.
