Drive safe during spring break
Published 6:52 pm Sunday, April 1, 2018
We are finally experiencing what could be considered spring temperatures, just in time for local schools to let out for spring break.
Today is the first official day of the student, teacher holiday, so remember to keep an eye out for children playing during weekday hours that have been quiet for the last few months. Even children with responsible parents watching nearby face the temptation to chase balls and Frisbees into what they think is a quiet road.
Likewise, now is a perfect time for parents to review road safety with young children. It never hurts to remind a child to look both ways before crossing the road and to let an adult know what they are doing.
Many families will also take advantage of this week to travel. We hope that everyone has fun wherever they go, and we encourage everyone to buckle up, put down the cell phone and be aware of any possible obstacles in the roadway.
Have a great spring break!
