LaGrange Academy’s track team will be well-represented at the GISA state track meet that will be held in Albany.

Six members of the girls’ team finished fourth or higher at last week’s region meet to advance to the state meet, which begins Thursday and goes through Friday.

Leading the way is Haliah Stargell, who earned four first-place finishes at the region meet at Flint River Academy.

Stargell won two individual races, and she was a member of two relay teams that placed first as well.

Stargell won the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash, and she helped the 400-meter and 1,600-meter relay teams finish first.

Joining Stargell on the 400 relay team were Payton Moody, Felicity Liecthy and Sarah Blair Atkins. The other 1,600 relay members were Atkins, Liechty and Ivey Portis.

Stargell also qualified for state by finishing third in the long jump.

Moody was third in the discus, and Liechty was third in the shot put.

Chloe Harrell was fourth in the 1,600-meter run and fourth in the 3,200-meter run, and she qualified for state in both events.
