The girls’ golf teams from LaGrange and Troup are state-bound after strong performances in the area tournament on Tuesday in Columbus.

LaGrange had a team score of 295 to finish third in the area, and it had the second-best score among the Region 5-AAAA teams.

Freshman Sydney Ormsby led LaGrange with an 81, Blakely Arp shot a 90, and Ally Arp had a 124.

Troup finished fourth in the area with a 305, and it is state-bound as well.

Senior Abby Taylor, who is headed to Point University on a golf scholarship, led Troup with an 83.

Kyla Bedingfield added a 100, and Sydney Lindsey rounded out the scoring with a 122.

Taylor Kennedy shot a 125.
