Saturday marked the start of graduation season when LaGrange College held its commencement on the quad. About 266 undergraduates and graduate students were given their diplomas after proceeding with the John Mohr Mackintosh Pipes and Drums.
Six secondary schools in Troup County will also be celebrating graduations next week. LaGrange Academy’s graduation is Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Unity Prep School’s graduation is Wednesday at 8 p.m. Callaway High School’s graduation is Thursday at 8 p.m.
Troup High School’s graduation is Friday at 8 p.m. Lafayette Christian School’s graduation is Saturday at 6 p.m.
LaGrange High School’s graduation is also next Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
Graduations are a special way to look back at what students have accomplished in their time at school.
It gives them a way to say goodbye to school and the memories made with friend there, but also look forward to the next step in their lives.
Graduation is a goodbye to classmates and the familiarity students have become accustomed to for four years.
School can be challenging for students in many ways, such as balancing it with life, stressing over exams or understating the material. It’s even more challenging seeing the end of the journey, and, even if you know your next step, going through with it.
Congratulations to the class of 2018, your hard work and accomplishments are recognized and we look forward to seeing where you will go from here.
