Mrs. Thelma Illene Cook

Mrs. Thelma Illene Cook, 74, of Franklin, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

Mrs. Cook was born Aug. 31, 1943, in Danville, Illinois, to the late Frederick Andrew Nipper and Thelma Irene Gilland Nipper.

She was a former member of Oakside Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking and baking. Mrs. Cook loved her grandchildren and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Carey Cook; five brothers and six sisters.

Survivors include her sons, Greg Cook and Jeff Cook; five granddaughters, Kayla Cook, Macie Cook, Amber Cook, Sarah Cook, and Sabrina Cook; one grandson, Sean Cook; one sister, Betty Brown; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018, in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with the Rev. Neil Awbrey officiating.

Entombment will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens. The gathering of family and friends will be Friday, June 15, 2018, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
