The City of LaGrange is proud of its Fourth of July traditions held every year.
On the Fourth of July, LaGrange celebrates America’s independence by holding its annual kids-only parade. Only kids 19-years-old and younger are allowed to participate, and motorized vehicles are prohibited.
The theme of this year’s 34th annual parade is ‘Home of the Brave.’ LaGrange Mayor Jim Thornton will once again provide free Kona Ice for the kids.
Parade participants assemble at Sweetland Amphitheater at Boyd Park, named for the parade founders, the late Annette and Jim Boyd.
The annual Fourth of July Fireworks Show will take place later in the day at Pyne Road Park overlooking West Point Lake. Gates open at 10 a.m. The Kid’s Play Zone will open at 4 p.m.
Food vendors will be selling a variety of food and refreshments.
There is a $10 charge per vehicle. The fireworks show begins at dark.
