Mr. Charlie Richard Fanning

Charlie Richard Fanning passed away Thursday in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
He was born Aug. 2, 1946, in LaGrange, Georgia, to the late John Wesley and Lucy Ann Lee Fanning.
He was a graduate of Ethel W. Knight High School, class of 1964, attended Troup Technical School and was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was the owner of Fanning Construction, Inc and one of the owners of the Troup County Drag Strips.
Survivors include his children, Linda (Nae) Fanning, Jeffery Fanning and Penny Fanning; four sisters, Johnnie Mae Smith, JoAnn (the Rev. Allen) Simpson, Carrie (Randy) Mays and Mary A. Reid; four brothers, Paul Reid, Jerry Harrison, J.C. (Carol) Thomas and Dion Jackson; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, lifetime friends and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; and ex wife, Virginia Fanning.
The service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Canaan Baptist Church.
The excellent care of Mr. Fanning is being provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
