Mr. Willie Fred Freeman, native and former resident of LaGrange, passed away in San Diego, California.   

Mr. Freeman, was the son of the late Willie Owen “Hump” Freeman and Julia Freeman. He was a 1964 graduate of East Depot High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran.    

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Terrell and Christine Gates;  paternal grandparents, Bishop A. G. and Mother Henrietta Freeman; brother, Vincent Freeman; sister, Donna Freeman Billlingslea.

Survivors include his wife, Cecil Brewer Freeman; son, Carlos Freeman;  daughter, Shanice Freeman;  sisters, Vicki Freeman Milner and Beverly Freeman Chestnut, all of San Diego, California;  several grandchildren; local survivors include brothers and sisters, Willie O. (the Rev. Johnnie) Freeman, Jeanette Freeman (Glenn) Fannin, Anthony (Alfreda) Freeman, Tony (the Rev. Sequita) Freeman, Pamela Freeman, Craig Freeman, Mark Freeman, all of LaGrange; sister-in-law, Jeanne Boykin, LaGrange; nephews, nieces and other relatives. 

The celebration of life service will Friday, Aug. 17 at 11 a.m. at Saint Stephen’s Church of God in Christ at 5825 Imperial Avenue, San Diego, California. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in San Diego.
