The city of Hogansville may soon be featured in a television series. Although the specific details are unknown, Stalwart Films is planning to film scenes of an AMC series next Thursday in downtown Hogansville.
Stalwart Films has produced “The Walking Dead,” “Fear the Walking Dead,” “Halt and Catch Fire,” and other television shows.
According to a letter from Sarah Williams, Stalwart Films co-location manager, filming will take place on Sept. 6 between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Due to filming that day, there will be road closures on Main Street/Highway 54 between US 29/ State Route 14 and Granite Street, and on Commerce Street between College and Johnson Streets.
“If you reside or work within our closure you will be able to access your property, but may experience a small delay, and will likely be redirected around filming by officers helping to direct traffic.,” Williams said in the letter.
Hogansville City Manager David Milliron said in addition to filming in the city, the location managers have also taken measurements and are planning to recreate the façade of The Royal Theatre. Milliron said members of Stalwart Films have been in Hogansville every day for the past week.
“There’s been folks every single day coming in and talking to folks, scouting the area, taking photos,” Milliron said.
Milliron said on Tuesday, the Hogansville City Council will be presented with a film production ordinance and the proposed location agreement.
“What I’ve been told is that they have a prep day and then a cleanup day,” Milliron said.
“I think the filming is only on one day, and then everything that they’ve done has been one-on-one with the businesses.”
Stalwart Films locations office was called on Friday. They said they could not give information on what television show is filming or if they are casting extras. For more information and updates on the project, visit Cityofhogansville.org.
