The Thursday Lunch Club met on Sept. 6, in the Fellowship Hall of the LaGrange First United Methodist Church. There were 104 people. Joyce Morgan Young, TLC chair, welcomed everyone. This month, the LaGrange Symphony Orchestra donated three pairs of tickets for its Sept. 25 performance. Winners of the tickets were Mary Formby, Ann Hoxie and Pam Taylor.

Joyce Morgan Young introduced Dr. John Beyers, Senior Minister of LaGrange First United Methodist Church. He told everyone about the experience he had during the second year as a minister. He traveled to India with the bishop and was touched by the variety of people he encountered and met. Dr. Beyers elaborated on a particular experience he had while visiting Mother Teresa’s home for children. 

The next meeting of TLC will be Thursday, Oct. 4 in the Fellowship Hall of the LaGrange First United Methodist Church. Dr. Richard Ingram will talk about Marquis de Lafayette.
