They’re perfect where it counts.

The Lafayette Christian School Cougars improved to 3-0 in region play with a 34-0 road win over Fullington Academy last week.

Lafayette Christian is off this week, and it can win the region title with a home win over Hancock Academy on Nov. 2.

Senior quarterback Landon Whitley, who has been starting since he was a freshman, had a huge night for the Cougars.

Whitley, who was the starter when Lafayette Christian won an eight-man state championship in 2015, had three touchdown runs and scoring passes to Nathan Karvelas and Mitch Crandall.

Lane Starling helped the Cougars secure the shutout with three interceptions.

Lafayette Christian (5-4 overall) has already qualified for the Georgia Independent Christian Athletic Association 11-man state playoffs, no matter what happens against Hancock Academy.

If Lafayette Christian wins that game, it will be back home for the opening round of the state playoffs.
