Mr. Robert “Gene” Brown, 83, a resident of LaGrange, Georgia, and formerly of The Valley, passed away Sunday, Feb. 17, 2019, at LaGrange Rehab. Funeral services will be held at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley, Alabama, on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019, at 3 p.m. EST with the Rev. Chuck Goodwin officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Fairfax Cemetery.

Survivors include his children, Cathy Richardson (Tony) and Steve Brown (Joy); two brothers, Jimmy Brown (Carolyn) and Billy Brown (Vickie); four grandchildren, Ryan Brown, Alex Brown, Clay Richardson and Carly Mobley; three great-grandchildren, Marleigh Brown, Caleb and Haley Richardson.  Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his wives, Mary Alice Brown and Carol Smith Brown. 

Mr. Brown was born in LaGrange, Georgia, on April 21, 1935, and was a former member of Faith Baptist Church in Valley.
