Thank you to Kiwanis Club

Once a year the LaGrange Kiwanis Club gathers the community for its annual pancake breakfast. Each year it seems to bring more people together, who eat pancakes but also enjoy fellowship with other locals.
Of course, the event is about more than just pancakes, although the flat cakes are the main event.
The annual event has been going on for 24 years and raises money for scholarships for Troup High School and Callaway High School Key Club members.
The high school clubs will receive $4,000 apiece in scholarships, broken up into three scholarships at each high school.
All of that money will surely help our next generation avoid adding more student debt when they get to college. Just under 2,000 tickets were sold in all and several of those who attended actually came from outside Troup County.
In true community spirit, almost everything used for the breakfast was donated. IHOP donated the batter for the pancakes, and Piggly Wiggly and Kimble’s Food by Design donated food products for the fundraiser.
The only thing the Kiwanis Club had to buy was link sausages and that cost was only about $200.
We applaud the Kiwanis Club, which does a tremendous job with this event each year. We also thank everyone who bought a ticket.
