LaGrange soccer teams topple Cedartown

It was a winning nigh for LaGrange High’s soccer teams, who swept past Cedartown on Wednesday to remain perfect in Region 5-AAAA.
LaGrange’s girls’ and boys’ teams are both 4-0 in the region heading into today’s home showdowns against Cartersville.
Both of Cartersville’s teams are 5-0 in the region.
In Wednesday’s boys’ game, LaGrange got a late goal from Robert Reese to beat Cedartown 2-1.
LaGrange took a 1-0 lead in the first half, with Jimmy Cancino scoring on an assist from Winston Herrera.
After Cedartown tied it at 1-1, LaGrange reclaimed the lead in the final five minutes, with Reese scoring on an assist from Cancino.
Jack DeVane did a terrific job in goal for LaGrange.
There was no suspense in the girls’ game, with LaGrange easing to an 11-1 win.
Caroline Thompson had a monster day with four goals, and Sydney Ormsby and Miller Williamson had two goals apiece.
Malone Aldridge, Izzy Pippin and Hana Sato had one goal apiece.
